Klahn Named Top Seed Of Singles Main Draw

Five Americans In The Top-8 Seeds

The top eight seeds for the singles main draw are headlined by American Bradley Klahn, who earned the top seed.

Klahn, ranked 74th in the world, returns to Binghamton for the second straight year after earning a runner-up finish in 2013. The Poway, California native was the 2013 USTA Pro Circuit Prize Money Leader with $50,606 in earnings and has already won a pair of events in 2014.

Ukrainian Sergiy Stakhovsky is the second seed. Ranked 88th in the ATP World Tour, Stakhovsky recently made it to the round of 32 after securing a pair of victories at Wimbledon. The 28-year old turned pro in 2003 and jumped to as high as 31 in the world in 2010.

Denis Kudla (USA) will be the three seed in main draw action which is set to begin on Monday. Kudla comes into this week’s event ranked 120th in the world and recently won both the singles and doubles championships in a challenger in Winnetka, Illinois. Rounding out the top-4 is qualifier Marius Copil who notched a pair of victories this weekend. Copil, just 23 years old, has won over $100,000 in prize winnings this season.

Three of the final four top seeds are Americans, including Rhyne Williams who was the top seed in last year’s LG&T Tennis Challenger. Illya Marchenko (5), wildcard recipient Austin Krajicek (7) and Wayne Odesnik (8) complete the list of top seeds competing in this year’s Challenger.
